The forest was alive with the soft murmur of the nearby waterfall, the scent of damp moss and wildflowers thick in the air. Hunter wandered just far enough from the main cascade that only a gentle mist kissed his fur, the light striking down through the trees in golden shafts. Perfect light. Perfect backdrop.
He set his camera up against a sturdy rock, double-checking the angle with a critical eye. His tail flicked lazily behind him as he adjusted his stance, brushing off a few stray leaves from his jeans. Grabbing a water bottle from his pack, he took a deep gulp, the cool water soothing his throat. before sitting up in a nice pose.
Hunter dropped into a crouch next, one knee bent, the other stretched out, resting an elbow on his thigh as he shot the camera a lazy, half-lidded look. His body gleamed in the light. The playful smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth said everything: he knew exactly what he was doing.
After a few more shots — arms stretched above his head, tail flicked out behind him, water dripping slow and steady from the ends of his fur — he strolled over to the camera, tail swaying, and checked the previews.
He chuckled softly to himself.
These were going to be some of his best yet.
