A lion should be in free nature, not in a living rom, at least it's my opinion.. a fox is ok, a lynx... well, a matter of case, I don't know how high the population in Russia is of them, but a lion, it's a rather rare species and could grow up to a dangerous killer who eats your other animals and could even attack you, no matter how wel you treat that little fellow, its instincts will awake sooner or later. I hope you know what you are doing there ^^"
Better the lion be in a living room, than sold as a rug. Perhaps the lion is being kept safe from a high poaching area, or maybe the parents were already killed. Sometimes wild animals are put in a situation where if they aren't kept in a room, they simply die off. Shame really. They deserve the wilderness, but even the wilderness cannot bring them salvation. Someone will just kill it for profit.
I'm with Uro. There could be a situation behind why there is a Lion cub in his residence. Without knowing the facts, we can't say for sure. The fact Foxsvir has kept Foxes and Lynxes to be happy shows he's at least smart about raising them, so I'm certain he'll be smart about the reasons for keeping a lion cub.
Not comparing them at all really. The only similarity they have is the fact they are all wild animals, and wild animals need special care if to be raised for even a small amount of time amongst humans. I'm more willing to bet this is a case where it was a zoo born, and maybe Foxsvir works for said zoo and is tending to it because the mother abandoned it or something.
A lion shouldn't be in a living room mainly because it's dangerous and rather willful (unlike a dog).Foxes and lynxes are OK. Rarity of population is grossly irrelevant.. i mean, if people will raise them, the population will be higher, not lower :3 (the reason why dogs and cats are so widespread - they are useful, unlike wild carnivores.)
(as a total sidepoint, i would totally want to see guard lynxes some day... after all one is strong enough to take down a deer or such.. how hard would a thief be :3)
IMHO, the problem is not so much instincts awakening (especially since lions are hierarchic) more the fact that if something messes up, any attempts at restraining it short of taser/gunfire would be a joke.

Your speculations are not based on any known fact. I am betting that the parents of this little lioness are alive and well. Most likely, this cub was either acquired from a local breeder or came as zoo surplus. As it was mentioned before, this is totally legal in Russia. Furthermore, there is nothing wrong with the exotic pet trade per se, as long as animals go to good hands: http://www.rexano.org/
Bullshit. It's proven fact. It happens all the time. Chimpanzees and orang-utans for two examples.
And there's a lot wrong with the exotic pet trade. Such animals only belong in their natural environments or zoos/animal parks.
I don't care if the animals are home-bred or zoo surplus. It's immoral and unfair to all the animals in question.

No. No they don't. People who keep such animals are selfish and think only of their own satisfaction and bragging rights.
And I think you'll find it is not propaganda, thanks.
Now that is my final word on the matter. I will no longer converse with people who haven't a clue of animal rights.
до свидания.

not everything is "animal rights propaganda" so much actual research have been done on animals in captivity and this including zoo/circus animals. personally I have no problem with exotic pets as long as they are kept by experienced owners and not purchased of black markets but Schindler is not wrong about the matter, its not peta brainwashing, hell peta is a piece of sh*t organisation who kills more animals than it saved. lions are not your average house cats, they do have allot of special needs that not everyone can live up to.
just saying..
