After four years in the AGATE program, Vershaft has gotten an excellent education in every area of study and several others, emerging with a strong skillset and a massive head start heading back down to Terra Buteo for further schooling and then a job.
Having moved up through the 'ranks', he's gotten a better room, one with an external view from the moon's surface and that he has to himself. He's also allowed additional privileges, such as the ability to wear more 'civilian' style clothes and to drink stimulant drinks, such as coffee and soda, by spending Credit Points earned during his time here.
The discipline he's gained here will serve him well, as will the skills, education, and the ability to think on the fly. In addition to just schooling, his unique abilities, inclinations, and talents were cultivated and allowed to flourish, resulting in a heavy knack in working with, repairing, using, and "cheating" electronics and computer systems.
But no school setting is complete without testing, and Gmelin is no different; before he can go back to the planet he hasn't stepped on in four years, he has to demonstrate his capacity in all of his areas for final grades and scoring, in a proficiency test that will follow him.
This, of course, means lots of studying and work preparing, and this runs down even the most diligent student over time; here he is taking a quick break from the studying to reflect on the tests, and what he's achieved here at AGATE. Best of luck to him on the tests!

The Accelerated Gmelin Academic Training and Education program (AGATE), also sometimes referred to simply as "Gmelin" after the moon the facility is located on, is a private education program run along military school lines. Youth of any family on Terra Buteo that has the money can file for the child to be sent there, in an effort to get them the best possible education available to citizens, in order to ensure that the child has an excellent chance of success in life and becoming(or staying) privileged and upholding the history, honor, and achievements of the family lines.
Attendees come from any Buteo species, and range from under ten all the way to eighteen. Once the child has been submitted, release is dependent solely on performance in the school; most students spend several years gaining an education in every branch of schooling, practical exercises for working and flourishing in Buteo society, and individual programs tailored to develop each individual's strengths and talents.
Social elements are minimized initially to focus on achievement; all privileges and rights are dependent on performance and behavior, and earned by spending CPs earned through achievement. This is to foster skills in many areas and to prevent individuals from manipulating the system through bullying or social manipulation, but likewise to foster personal skills to become competent in all areas(including social) through a basic task/reward system.
By stripping out cultural influences, and the ability of someone to dominate a social ladder through no skill of their own like in a standard middle school, every student is given a fair shot at life at an excellent school. AGATE graduates are renown throughout the sector for their competency and quirks, and have little trouble finding jobs.
