Daphne was a rather spoiled princess residing in a kingdom existing not too far away from the entrance to a demon realm. She, like most others, had very low opinions on non-human species. One Day she would encounter The Mask. Not knowing what it was, she felt compelled to put it on. Though she gained shapeshifting powers, she would squander this on simply using it to change her hair and features slightly.

After a while, the Mask would consume her individuality, leaving her as a Simulaquin, and eventually chased by guards and soldiers while not given a chance to even try to explain. Luckily(?) a rift would form, and Daphne would end up tripping through it.

Daphne would soon find herself in the back yard of a young Gorgon-like girl by the name of Charlotte. Charlotte was a lonely young girl whose petrification powers were very powerful and highly advanced, leading to most around her being afraid of her, and the other kids not wanting anything to do with her. However, as a Simulaquin, Daphne would be immune to these powers.

Through a strange combination of shenanigans, fear of Daphne revealing her secret of formerly being a human to 'demons', the nature of being a Simulaquin, and other factors, 'Daphne' would soon find a position as Charlotte's pet dog, 'Popcorn'.

Though 'Poppy' may experience some indignation over its... his(?) new class change from princess to pet dog, and thinks about possible ways out of it, he also finds himself happy to be a 'good boy' for the lonely girl.
