Some time ago I ran out of paper. Thus, I had to use an other brand of Bristol paper than I usually do ... Thrice as expensive and hell! I hated it the moment my brush touched it. :) That paper was quite awful and was nothing like the wonderful one I used before (which is incredibly hard to get where I live). This is one of the pieces I did on the new paper. I'm not all that dissatisfied with it, but I think I already painted better pieces. The new paper sucked too much paint, making the picture seem less saturated ... it was a horrible experience. Yet, I enjoyed painting a rather carefree (haha) piece again. :)

Thank you very much, I'm happy to hear you like it. :)
And well, it's an experience to learn from, so ... Anyways, Tabalon was already kind enough to find an online shop (after days of searching) with the paper I was looking for. And he already sent me lots of it, so I guess I won't run out of paper for the next two years or even more to come. :)

Thank you very much! :) I really do hope you'll like the original more than the version on the screen.
And there's nothing I can do about that now, it's already painted. I simply learned to stick to the brand(s) I'm used to. And thank you again. I was lucky enough to find the paper I was looking for after someone went looking online for it for days! :)

It may be the wrong kind of paper, but it looks like it gave the right results . The softer texture and colouring lends to the easy going almost dreamlike state.
This tod remembers days like this one, but not here in Arizona, *melts in the summer heat*
I simply love this piece for the feelings it conveys.

From the sound of thing you where going for something with a little more depth of color. And since the paper basically acted like sponge it muted every thing. But still with the way it is it's a very good piece. Has the feel of a lazy late afternoon I like and if I was going to be at EF I'd buy it.
Yes, I was ... especially since someone told me they'd like to see something with really high contrast from me. So it was temporarily really frustrating to see that this new paper didn't work out at all for me! But seeing that there are still people who like this piece, I'm a little happy it turned out the way it did, especially since I also had some kind of lazy late (summer) afternoon in mind. :)
It's a pity you're not going to EF (not because you said you'd buy it, rather because it's always a pity to miss such an awesome convention).

It's fine, there's no need for explanations or anything. :) I myself can't afford to attend an US-con right now even though the current exchange rate from Euro to USD is rather convenient for people from Germany. :')
I hope you'll be able to attend EF one day, though. :)

Oh well, in case you'd really want it: You can always let someone who's attending bid on it or (in case it's one of the leftovers from EF) purchase it after the convention.
However, I can understand if you don't as I usually only buy pieces I already saw in real life. :)
