In this merfolk universe, Stolas and Blitzo have been separated for years. The former is downright crestfallen and crushes the sea flower with a jewel in the middle so hard that the shards cut his clawed hand, letting his blood flow out of him, but he doesn't care.
That sea flower was a gift from Blitzo when they were mer-kids.
