Ehh. Well, if the world isn't ready for snakes with this thing, I'll give it to my smol boyz (this will be even scarier).
Regarding iconicity, this is ultimate true. It seems to me that even in 2100s+, only well-improved projectiles will be launched from literally the same tubes produced in the 1970s. On the downside: it's heavy and doesn't have a very long range. On the upside... it's heavy and you can hit it really hard and it will even continue to work!
