Lightning Strikes Thrice x Jovial Merryment evil yuri. Their relationship is messy.

In my AU, Jovial (who takes the whole racing thing way too seriously) quickly noticed that Lightning was a very skilled racer and could be a very dangerous opponent if Jovial didn’t do anything about it. Because of this, Jovial initially approached Lightning in a friendly manner hoping to get on her good side, before realizing she could simply emotionally manipulate her into becoming a ‘living obstacle’ to make the races more difficult for the other horses (by bumping into them and causing minor crashes). Since Lightning is a young adult and pretty naive she never questioned the fact Jovial was basically asking her to sabotage the other horses, also making it impossible for her to win any race. She’s just glad to have someone she thinks is in love with her 🥲.

Jovial isn’t physically or verbally violent toward Lightning or anything like that, but what she’s doing is still pretty cruel and will very much affect Lightning’s mental health in the future. She’s not an dangerous, evil mastermind, just a pretty selfish horse who would do anything for her career.

Unfortunately, aside from Superstitonal Realism (who doesn’t really care tbh) none of the other horses really noticed what’s happening and view them as a cute loving couple. Poor Lightning :(
