I didn’t expect to feel this relaxed. Felicia’s place is so soft, so calm… like the air itself is giving me permission to breathe. She suggested painting each other’s nails, and how could I say no to that? Now we’re curled up on her bed, sunlight spilling in through the window, her hands steady as she colors in my claws with such care. There’s a box of donuts between us, but we’ve barely touched them, too caught up in the quiet closeness. I’m not used to this kind of peace, but with her… I think I could be.
