As an animator, when you're doing dialogue you GOTSTA look at your face in a mirror. A face may look stiff and robotic if you express from just drawing of expressions you THINK are right, but when you're physically doing it, it really helps to capture the flexibility in one's facial muscles.
Plus it just gets you in the right mood!

I would sometimes think of comics ideas at work and end up saying the dialogue out loud without realizing it. At one point i said something like "Who's dick to do i have to suck to get some service around here??" out loud, and then felt really embarrassed because there were a lot of people around me. They didn't seem to notice though.
