Aurora and Sheen had been traveling together for several days now. Ranger and Druid who had found each other on a less traveled forest path and quickly determined they were tracking the same quarry. Aurora, following a predator of some sort, who had come down from the mountains and killed several livestock. Sheen, following a magical creature that had destroyed a nearby dryads grove. Knowing there was strength in numbers, it was an easy decision to stick together.
Their journey eventually leading them into the mountains, into a large grotto covered in beautiful, shimmering crystals. The grotto was quiet except for the occasional dripping of water from the crystalline stalactites above their heads. Keeping close, the entered and began to investigate the seemingly empty room, until a low growl informed them that they were not alone...
With an unnatural rush of air rustling their fur and hoods. The pair instinctively shifted with their backs to one another. As a shadowed beast climbed down the side of the wall. With glistening red scales and purple smoke billowing out of its mouth. The dragon quickly circled around the two with its large form, like a cat circling its prey, its tail blocking the only exit from the grotto.
"I think we may be in over our heads a bit with this one" Sheen gulped nervously, casting a barrier spell on the two.
Drawing one of her brand new specialty arrows, Aurora knocks her bow, the magic in the arrowhead charging up. With a confidence in her voice she looks over her at her companion. "Its large, but young. We can take it if we work together" Thank you so much to
