Do, the owl, appears to have trouble making it to the potty at night. He already feels really bad about how his best birdie buddies, Re, the hummingbird, and Mi, the blue jay, can fly while he cannot. What would his friends think of him if they found out he also wets the bed?
“There’s nothing to be ashamed of, Do,” says Mi. “Every birdie is different and you are still our super smart, owl buddy no matter what.”
“Really…?” worries Do as he looks at the pack of overnight diapers he had accidentally left in plain sight in his workshop. “I bet Chester doesn’t still wet the bed.”
“Oh, Do,” Mi reassures while giving him a hug. “If it makes you feel any better, I still sleep with a lovey.”
Do adjusts his red-rimmed glasses so that he can wipe a tear from under his eye.
“You do?” he asks with a sniffle.
“It helps me sleep to have something soft to cuddle under my wing at night,” says Mi.
“Oh-oh-oh!” Re eagerly chirps as she hovers above the ground. “I’ve got an idea!”
“What’s your idea, Re?” asks Mi.
“What if,” she begins to suggest with a beaming smile. “What if we had a sleepover where we all wear diapers so that Do does not feel so sad about needing to wear diapers at bedtime!”
“That’s a great idea, Re!” Mi replies. “What do you think, Do?”
“You’d do that for me?” he asks as a smile begins to form across his face.
“Of course!” tweets Re. “What are friends for!”

The sun had set in Beebopsburgh when Re and Mi returned to Do’s house for their sleepover. Both were carrying a pillow, a blanket, and a diaper when they came inside.
“I also brought my best plushie birdie buddy,” Mi says while holding the stuffed animal out for Do to see.
PUFF CRINKLE PUFF
“Hey!” exclaims Re while using the diaper she brought with her as a tambourine. “Did you know you could make music with these, Do?”
Do blushes.
“They are kind of noisy,” he replies.
FWIP CRINKLE FWIP
“You’re right, Re!” awes Mi as she waves the diaper she had brought from left-to-right and back again. “These are like musical instruments you can wear!”
“You should totally go and get one of your diapers, Do!” encourages Re. “Then all three of us can make music together!”
“Okay!” agrees Do before running back to his bedroom.

Re and Mi waited patiently for Do to return.

“Tada!” cheers Do as he toddles back out to play with his friends. “Diapers make a lot of sounds when you are wearing them.”
“Ooh…,” awes Re.

“Let’s make some music!” proclaims Mi as she flaps her diaper out at her side.
“Do!” states the green owl as he rushes towards his friends with a wing held high into the air.
“Re!” the pink hummingbird replies as she swoops over to touch wings with Do.
“Mi!” announces Mi as she lifts a wing towards the raised wings of Do and Re.
“Let’s make some music!” cheers Re as she starts to tap her diaper against her side.

The rest of the night was filled with fun and laughter as the three birds had fun with their diapers. Eventually, Do showed Re and Mi how to put theirs on so that they, like him, could make music by just making their bodies move.

That night was very special for Do. He felt more confident in himself despite having to wear diapers at night and not yet being able to fly. This growth in confidence is what gave him the courage to be braver and work harder towards meeting his goals. It was not too long after that not only his bedwetting stopped, but he was able to fly his own way.

Thanks! This was a very interesting story that shows just how, with the right support, one can do just about anything.
I think there was a longer documentary about this particular individual, too. We watched it while I was attending The Colorado Center Of The Blind. I think, like me, he was also missing his actual eyes and had prosthetics that, due to the climate going up Everest, he had a bit of trouble keeping in.
It is stories like these that make me always try my absolute best to do what I can do despite having no eyesight left. Some days are easier than others, but I definitely want to leave a positive impact on the world through my efforts in not giving up despite my disability.

Hello, my friend! So sorry that it has taken me so long to reply to your comment. The new job I took really is a tricky one that usually leaves me pretty tired out by the end of the day. I'm trying to get back to hopping on FA on the weekends, but there always seems to be something to do around the house.

I like the idea of a sleepover to help others feel more comfortable. For young kids a sleepover with diapers sound so silly and adorable hehe. I have to say that I love the sound diapers make when you move with them. Crinkle sounds are so cute hehe, even if they are undesirable when you want to be discreet. Despite of that, having them when you're comfy alone at home is a plus. Making music with that sounds kind of complicated, but maybe possible hehe. I'm sure those cutie silly birds can make that happen.
