I'm tentatively submitting this here because I THINK it is finished, until I wake up tomorrow morning and I'm all 'ARGH, HOW COULD I HAVE FORGOTTEN THAT'
But at the moment... I think it may be done. I'll be uploading a bigger/hi-res/non-shit-copy of this soon (colours will be better, etc). :)
Annoyingly though I find that when I upload stuff to FA the colours go worse anyway... mehrgh.
This is my very first proper anthro art! I enjoyed it. Got me back into painting hefty detailed backgrounds, too!

Got rid of it altogether, what you see there is a bit of fur texture! We decided it was too feminine no matter what I did to it. Also thought of adding some arm wraps to him but his arms are folded and that's already a fairly complex position for the arms, I didn't want to make it less clear by adding more stuff to them - but I'm yet to get Elessara's opinion on that, so we shall see!
I’ve been keeping an eye on your WIPs. And I have to say the final product does not disappoint. The textures are absolutely gorgeous. I love the depth of the trees in the background on the wolf side and they way the light is streaming through the branches. The flowers/bush are very beautiful as well. And I love the mountains on the cheetah side, and the way the shadows cast by the trees fade where the cheetah is standing.
You should be very proud of this. Its breathtaking. And shows your obvious dedication. keep it up

Awwwhh thank you! I was worried I'd be boring people with WIPs but it was a good way to keep Elessara updated and allow her to comment. :D
Thank you so much, anyway - I'm rather pleased with this, for a first attempt at anthro characters I don't think it's too bad. Though I would like to start doing some more cartoony stuff maybe at some point - my heart will always belong to excessive detail!

Nah, its always interesting to see the process and progress in really detailed pieces such as this. I think it makes you appreciate the final a bit more. And whatever makes the commissioner happy is always good.
I personally love the realistic detailed things like this because its something I myself have come nowhere near getting right. Everything I do comes out unintentionally cartoonish.

OH MY GAWD.... This is absolutly STUNNINGLY amazing!
This turned out so much better than I had ever envisioned. I mean the lighting, the OMG the details, the perfect seemingly seemless seam, it's all just so... wow.
THANK YOU so much!!! Ithink KNOW the recipient will really enjoy this. ALOT. (Now let's just hope he doesn't stumble across it by accident! XD)
This commission went so well, is so awesome, and was done by such a enjoyable person that you can count on me refering you to others and coming back myself for any future works.
This here is an amazing artist guys!

You are very very kind! :D I really enjoyed doing this, and I'm very flattered and honoured that you are so happy with it. Do let me know what your friend thinks of it when he receives it. Is he on FA much; are you worried that he might stumble across this?
We can discuss how best to get a print to you after the weekend. :)

Errrm. Someone has recently told me that the cheetah's spots look tacked on like confetti, and that the sunlight is at the wrong angle. I am not 100% sure I agree with her about the lighting, because there are two different scens and whereas I tried to maintain the lightsource throughout both (coming from top right of the picture) I'm not sure how much better I can make it. As for the spots... well. I don't know. What I'm trying to say is: is there anything you want me to change?
Well, I can kinda see what they were talking about on the spots now that I look at it. (Especailly the one on the tip of his knee) I don't think it looks that bad like it is but if you want to go back and see what you could do I wouldn't mind. I think the lighting looks fine.
Also, yeah he is on quite a bit but I know for a fact he's not watching you (I checked lol) so I'm not worried about it. Even if he does stumble accross it, oh wells. MERRY CHRISTMAS! :D
