On most nights, red haze permeates the night sky. The true contents of said haze are said to be unknown. Is it years of mass pollution finally taking its toll? Is it bloody remnants of those who have fallen before them? Is it the last gasping breaths of a dying world?
Whatever it may be, it combined with the city's light pollution mean that most of those still alive will never see the stars at night, and those who are lucky enough to see them won't even know what they are looking at, as constellations are mere folklore and fairy tales.
Stories told to children, often hiding a convenient lie that the remaining population like to tell themselves. Simply "It is what it is.". One thing is for sure though, the city sure is ugly at night.
