The snow leopard (Panthera uncia) is a species of large cat native to the Tibetan Mountains in the ranges of Central and South Asia.
It has whitish to grey fur with black spots on the head and neck, and large rosettes on its back and bushy tail, meanwhile its belly is whitish. Its muzzle is short, its forehead domed, and its nasal cavities are large. It has short muzzles and domed forehead. They are stocky and have short legs.
Unlike other Panthera species, the snow leopard is smaller than them, reaching a shoulder height of 56 cm (22 in), and ranging in head to body size from 75 to 150 cm (30 to 59 in). Meanwhile its weight can range between 25 kg (55 lb) to 75 kg (165 lb) with the average male being 45 to 55 kg (99 to 121 lb) and females 35 to 40 kg (77 to 88 lb).
The snow leopard is mostly active at dawn and at dusk. It lives in a solitary life, being elusive to the enviroment and quiet yet observant of any prey.
