I have this head-canon theory that Hansel always had the heritage of representing the Husky family's wolf spirit being forced on him, and as such, he would be shunned as an outcast over wanting to be a poet.
Hence why he'd rather not grow up as an alpha-male as explained in "The Longest Night".
