I like the idea of the Phoenix as those things are really good looking. Do you know what colors you would use for the Phoenix?
The black and white dragon sounds cool! Also, the Grim Reaper fits great with you especially with your wearing sunglasses all of the time!
Is there a reason why you have chosen all of those images as potential tattoos?

well I chose the dragon and phoenix because i was reading up on Taoism and the described the Yin Yang symbol, in the description the mentioned Yin was dominate like a dragon and Yang was submissive like the Phoenix....since my left arm has B&W tattoos i wanted the Phoenix (probably red and yellow) to be color and my right has color tattoos so i want the Dragon to be B&W, as for the grim reaper...I've always wanted a grim reaper tattoo lol
What you describe sounds awesome in terms of what you want to do with you tattoos, and when you get them done it would be cool to see how they look in the end! Your skin tone is very light and smooth, and I think tattoos would work on you unlike on hairy guys or those with a dark complexion.
While I know that Buddhism and Taoism are different when you were stationed in Afghanistan did you ever get a chance to see the Bamiyan Valley? It was the place where there were these massive Buddhas carved right into the mountains, and inside the caves there are a bunch of ancient Buddhist paintings. While Afghanistan is obviously an Islamic country nowadays because it was at the crossroads of the world there is a lot of interesting influences throughout the country. Well, I am sure you were really busy with more important things than sightseeing, but it is really cool how deeply you have thought about your tattoos.
