I needed an icon for myself when I do the Friends In Business blog (http://www.friendsinbusinessblog.com) and so I came up with this one. It matches well with Lesley Fountain's "maamaw" icon. Although it's not directly stated, if anythang annoys the syskitty they are likely to end up in the Sandbox of RBL (the "black hole spam list" which is the list internet servers use when deciding who to block spammers.)

I am sorry for making you cry, but this is the thing with creations. I didn't interact with Sam that much, but when you are new to something and there's someone to help, even a toon character, you tend to remember them. It may sound silly, but it's like being glad that the Pink Panther got a job selling fiberglass after his show ended. (80 year old men remember this character) and once released, you'll never know whom they affected for good or ill. Thank you, Mel, for helping us with Sam Siam. (grins) Cat Class, Cat Style.
Never heard of comic or artist.
This one was inspired by (settle in for a LONG tale) my days in the Lone Gunmen Fandom when the "gunchicks" (as we were known) did a road trip. I'm the "Langly" of the bunch -- if it's shiny and electronic, I want my paws on it and I could (and probably can) still do some pretty amazing stuff with computers. So this one particular year we had a house party for everyone (micro convention -- where we even brought in a filmmaker and funded his film.) One of the highlights was a shopping trip to Archie McPhee's where I everyone did the "oooh SHINY!" dance. Then they took me to a warehouse of electronic parts and almost abandoned me for the wolves to eat after I dove into bin after bin, exclaiming over the chips and resistors and the boards and so forth.
I did the Gunchicks as kitties (much faster than doing caricatures.) This was my Gunchick Kitty Persona.

Funny thing. I grew up with dad being an electronic hobbyist. so I know what a resister is, and that it has a color code, and find that Surface mount has ruined most of my knowledge there. so I know what most of the parts are. ICs, not so much, but I know what they are. perhaps not how to use a shottkey from a hole in the ground, but I have at least heard the term, which is more than others.
so what do I do? buy up little solder together kits when I find them. does not teach more than how to use soldering iron, but at least it's something...
