Gilda rest her bill on one of Mr. Clench's coils as she quickly ducked behind the wall and started flicking through her inventory. Another of the serpent's coils provided a rest for her forearms as the griffon worked the game controller.

It was after 2am and it was another hot summer night in Griffonstone. The A/C in Gilda's apartment was on the fritz. Again. She'd stripped down to her panties and had planned to head off to bed around midnight, but the bedroom had been a sauna. So she'd decided to give the final level one last try. Then she'd hit the sack.

Really.

This time for sure.

2 hours later and she found herself lying on floor of her living room with her pet python Mr. Clench wrapped and coiled around her. On a muggy night like tonight his cool scales and body actually felt pretty nice.

This was her 4th attempt at the final boss, and this time the stars seemed to be aligning in griffon's favor. She had the boss down to 15% and her health was looking pretty good. Even better she had a good supply of Power Gems and Life Restorers.

"Okay Clench. I think we've got this dweeb!" The griffon said in her typical raspy voice. Gilda didn't have the same level of communication that Fluttershy had with her python Squeezie Link, but she'd learned to read the serpent's body language. She felt a gentle squeeze of encouragement as her character rolled out from the wall and sent 2 missiles into the boss's power armor. However before she could slip back behind the wall again the boss unleashed an unexpected Aura of Agony AOE. Gilda felt Mr. Clench suddenly live up to his name as he tensed up and constrict her a bit as one of the griffin's portable shields failed.

"It's okay Clench. That AOE took a ding out of defenses but we're still good. In fact I think we're going to end this now!"

Her character slid an Amethyst of Annihilation into a missile's empty warhead slot. Then once again she ducked out from behind the wall. Almost immediately she heard over the sound of battle the signature growl of a lock-on. She depressed the trigger button on the controller and the missile flew straight and true into boss's chest piece. The entire screen whited out and the subwoofers on Gilda's stereo speaker made the apartment walls buzz as a thunderous explosion heralded the successful conclusion of the game.

"YES! FINALLY!" Gilda tossed the controller into the air and then leaned forward and kissed the python on top of his head. "We got that pigeon!" As a reward Gilda got a congratulatory hug from the python. Slowly, with the snakes help, she rolled over and stared up at the apartment ceiling. after a second griffin spoke.

"I'm so glad I don't have to work tomorrow." Then she slowly started to uncoil the snake from around her and she head off to bed. The serpent slowly followed behind her.
