Will the next chapter list the eliminated canines / the final finalists? I missed that part as it is normally at the end of the segment on who got cut. I mean, yeah, it said who made it in during the story itself, but hard to keep track without a formal listing as well.
I think Edge has jumped up to my favorite character spot. I'd have definitely taken his side in the confrontation with the special guest. I found the guest character along with Ludwig to be extremely unlikable and the last challenge didn't seem to mean much to who got in vs. who got cut.
The stoat and the guest character seemed to arbitraily pick the finalists from the group without any rhyme or reason to the decision making that I could decipher. It seemed to be boil down more to who could "respect" the host's orders / the guest character's orders the most and damn the rest.

I have more mixed feelings about Edge. Like, I can't deny he has all the physical tools to succeed, he's basically Michael Phelps in canine form. And he's clearly carved out the villain role for himself.
At the same time, I feel like my veteran brother and his vet friends, if they were watching this show their collective reaction to Edge would be "Who the fuck is this asshole?". I genuinely wonder how he made it through Coast Guard basic training, if this is who he's always been. He comes off as entitled as hell, like he already *is* the American Canine Alpha. I'd expect that attitude from a star athlete or actor, not someone in the military.

Edge is the kinda guy who is extremely smart in figuring out where lies the exact limit he can push his disdain and opposition to commands and hierarchies to. He's also good enough at what he does that he can get away with it 99% of the time, and I feel he prefers keeping himself entertained than hogging the spotlight just 'cause of his ego. He puts on the villain front for the cameras, but there's more to him than what meets the eye.
A great comparison to him would be the former cyclist Lance Armstrong. Someone who's got enough charisma and personality to get away with a lot of tomfoolery, and who will push the envelope and bend the rules however he can in order to reach his goal.

Thanks for the heads-up! Listed the finalists and the eliminated canines at the bottom of the document.
I dunno why you were/are of the opinion that the challenges that took place had no bearing in selecting the final candidates. The selection was made from the producers, but it took into account how each contestant performed both in the first and second cut, and in fact the top10 in the second cut all made it into the cast. Is there anyone who you think was supposed to be in due to his performance and got overlooked?

No. It is more that in one chapter, Ludwig made a big deal about "not being respected" and then the special guest character did the same thing towards Edge, which indicates that if Edge hadn't of been marked "safe" by winning one of the challenges, then the guest character would have used his personal bias to make sure he did not make it to the finals.
Same thing Ludwig would have likely done if the quitting anthro had stayed in the game until this point... no way Ludwig would have selected him to make it to the finals.
I just don't like how the host and guest character are trying to big-time the contestants. Part of 'being alpha' is being brave enough to challenge authority if said authority is incompetant or doesn't know what it is doing, regardless of the consequences.
Ludwig was in the wrong. If challenged, he should have been at least willing to listen instead of reacting emotionally; same thing applies to the guest character. Both of them acted like dicks and well-deserved the push back that some of the characters did to them.
That's why Edge is my favorite. I want him to rub Ludwig and the special guest's snouts into the dirt and still come out on top and win. Then there's nothing either of them can do other than cry as they're forced to hand him the $250,000.

With this second cut and this new guest in the fray, it was more about just seeing someone focused on obedience or being "yes sir, no sir." Be it charisma or conviction on their own path, those who showed an extra quality and more layers were deemed worthy enough to become finalists. With Edge doing as well as he has and being as present as he has been, he was likely to be in the final frame, these two experienced hosts would recognize that.
And about the quitter, it's likely he may not have passed this first cut anyway, and maybe this poor showing made him crash out, blaming the entire production team instead of himself, making his situation unamendable as it was. Considering the challenges were pretty similar, one could call it "skill issue", cuz many that did worse just chugged along to a natural conclusion.

Noooooo! Not Tyler! DX
He truly didn't deserve to go out like that!
Also, I knew Edge was gonna pull some shit like that. Dude is hellbent on making enemies. >:C
Really happy with this selection. At least Greg is finally out, so that made my day~
And Ewan and Kyle are IN! Heck yeah! XD
But now... kinda both excited and afraid to see what this whole 'POUND and OUT' thing is all about.

It is an extreme game, and unfortunate events may happen, even to the most capable of canines. But we believe the 13 are truly the most shining personalities that'll make this season the more entertaining!
And for the twist at the end, it depends which friends/enemies he wants to specifically make :P
