Do you ever have trouble with security when you do this? I can't imagine getting close enough to the Colorado capitol building in suit for a good pic.

I've suited in front of at least 3 capital buildings. I typically go on the weekend (Sundays are usually empty). I take a walk around, to see if there is anyone of authority to check with. I never go inside the building. I'm always out near the street, or on the steps in front.

To this day, I've not encountered any security, just families...usually with kids. When I do this, I remember that it is guerrilla suiting. I have a good handler with me, and am willing to take pictures with those who ask. When they ask "Why are you doing this?", I (or rather, I have my handler) tell them I'm an amateur costume maker and these capital pictures are a life goal of mine.


My first capital suit picture (which I need to find) was at the Denver Capital Building. It was during Pridefest in....2006 (I think). So, yes, it can be done.

Ah, yes. Going on a weekend makes a LOT of sense! With all the hysteria and paranoia floating around these days, I thought it would have been more difficult. I think it's a great goal, though, and I want to see all 50 pics in a collage together! :D
