For "Shoreline" I wanted to test my background painting skills again. It can be hard to do organic stuff simply because of how much you need to know to do it. Shading a character can be simple with the right knowledge of form and light, but I find that backgrounds really test my ability to handle detail and how colors interact with each other. I'm a huge fan of the artist Clockbirds and how she manages to make such expansive pieces that blend unique character designs and stunning backgrounds. I've definitely got a long ways to go until my pieces reach the cohesivity hers have but I'm still proud of what I can do.
