The sun was starting to rise the following day. Both Tommy and his dad were asleep beside Tirar Ho. Both of them were in their pyjamas, however it was a comfortable tempreture to be out side so they weren't cold at all. Soon afterwards Tirar Ho started to snore just a little. The sound of the snoring woke Tommy's father up. He laughed a little at the elephant due to his snoring, but then he sighed, because he knew it was soon time to take Tirar Ho back home to the zoo. He nudged Tommy a little to get him up. 'Wake up my little Tommy. We'll have to get dressed in a minute. it's time'., he said. 'Time..time for what'?, yawned Tommy. 'Time to take Tirar Ho back to his home at the zoo'., replied his father. Tommy now awake, sighed and gentily nodded in agreement. Both he and his dad went indoors to change as Tirar Ho started to slowly wake up himself, ready for the day ahead of him.
After they both got changed, Tirar Ho lifted Tommy and his Dad onto his back and Tommy pointed in the direction they wanted to go in. Tirar Ho was able to carry both father and son with ease on his back and it seemed he didn't mind having a few passengers on top of his back. They decided to travel along the quiet coastal road that led to the zoo. It wasen't the most direct route to the zoo, but Tommy wanted to take the long route so that he can spend as much time with his new friend as possible, before he had to say good bye and Tommy's father didn't see this as a problem. in fact he was enjoying the ride just as much as his so was and Tirar Ho smiled himself as he enjoyed having the company of his new friends.
When they arrived at the zoo, Bruce took them to the elephant enclosure and opened the main gates as Tirar Ho lifted Tommy and his dad off of his back once again. Tommy gave his new friend one last hug. 'I'm going to miss you Tirar Ho, but you'll always be in my heart'., said Tommy as he shed another tear. Bruce went over to him. 'Awww don't worry Tommy. This isn't like it's the last time you're going to see him'?, said Bruce. 'yeah, I'll guess I can visit him when ever I visit the zoo'., said Tommy. 'Or maybe even sooner if you'd like. Tirar Ho seems to have developed a friendship with you. Perhaps you can help us out here at the zoo to arrange special events here at the zoo for all the children at your school or maybe the whole town and of course you'll get to see Tirar Ho in his enclosure, with me supervising of course'., suggested Bruce. 'Really? Oh can I dad Can I'?, asked Tommy, quite excitedly. 'Just as long as I'm allowed to come with you son'., said Tommy's father. 'but of course. I want you both to experience this'., said Bruce. 'And maybe Grandma and Grandpa too'?, asked Tommy. 'I don't mind'., said Bruce. 'i think that's OK. My Dad doesn't mind the smell of elephants as long as it's in the zoo'., laughed Tommy's dad. Tirar Ho then rushed into the enclosure as soon as he has saw his mother. the two of them went into the enclosure as Tommy waved goodbye to his friend, but this time around he didn't shed one tear.
'I want you to know that you'll always have friends here at the zoo. Always. Have a safe journey home'., said Bruce as he waved good bye to Tommy and his dad as they left the zoo. 'We'll always remember and thank you my friend. Do take good care of Tirar Ho'., said Tommy's dad. 'Good bye and thank you very much. See you soon, bye'., said Tommy. Then Tommy's dad picked him up to give him a piggy back ride. 'I know I'm not a real elephant, but I can still take my son on piggy back rides though can't I'?, he asked. 'Of course you can Dad, I love them. So Tirar Ho won't forget me then'?, asked Tommy. 'Of course not. Elephants never forget remember'., laughed Tommy's dad. 'Oh of course'., replied Tommy. He then looked up at the clear blue sky and now that when he sees his mother and Miguel, Tommy is picturing his mother giving Miguel a piggy back ride to make him smile, just like what his dad is doing and it made him happy now, rather then sad. He knows now that wearever he was, no matter where, he'll have friends . 'Papa. Maybe we can pretend that you're an elephant by putting an old sock of your nose'?, suggested Tommy. 'Why do you say that'?, asked his dad. 'Because then it will look like you have a trunk on your nose'., giggled Tommy. His dad laughed too as he carried his son home.
