I deeply appreciate her soul-cutting gaze like she's a snake and you are a mouse she's sizing up.

hunger, both as actual vampiric hunger, and as envy, broadly to all ponies for getting to live ostensibly peaceful idyllic lives and to Twilight sparkle specifically for her immortality being granted by a kind creature instead of a monster, is her defining story element

like most things, it's a metaphor

but also literally, hunger is the lens through which she sees everything

this is very good context for the kissing, which i assume is a violent and overly forceful.

no crimson is terrible at it and terrified of it

i want to do a few little comics of it with shots of her pov where it's like

she's talking to a pony and it's just red overlayed overbearing thoughts screaming KILL EAT EAT PREY IT TRUSTS YOU EASY PREY KILL BITE HERE BLOOD IDENTIFIED KILL EAT TEAR KILL MURDER KILL with like intrusive bloody red scribbles interposing where the active arteries are on everypony she looks at and talks to with arrows pointing to the easiest place to bite

and crimson is just smiling and doing a great job ignoring her instincts as she talks to this pony :2

Extremely relatable as someone who also shares intense urges to bite things I'm attracted too.

it's at everypony tbh not just twilight sparkle

the emotional arc is largely starting as crimson deeply envious of twilight and like, just out-and-out hating her because of it; the jealousy turning into "well if twilight's so damned important to the world if i can become important to her maybe i can matter too" and, because this is a romance story, that eventually just becomes "actually i just want to be important to twilight"

crimson's relationship with other ponies remains uh

difficult in part because of the constant unending and literal bloodlust,

she's like if a cat was disguised as a mouse and was living in mousetopia but still had the appetite and dietary needs of a cat
