And that's the end... of chapter 1!
When I started working on this comic, my goal was to tell a small, cute love story about a grumpy yet easily flustered racoon and a kinky, happy-go-lucky skunk.
I gave myself a rule that it shouldn't be any longer than 15 pages... then sort of broke it as I planned the storyboard by making it 20 pages long. Still, it was meant to be a manageable, self contained project that I was working on because I genuinely liked its story. I had no idea whether people were going to like it or if they would even care about it and I tried not to think about it too much while I put it all together and started posting it.

I was honestly surprised to see how much people liked it! I know I've been drawing and making abdl stuff for years and years now but this is the first time I was working on something that was just "me" instead of something that I assumed others would like.

When it became clear that people were into it and that it was "okay" for me to do more, I started working on another chapter of these two's story. The later pages are still being storyboarded but the main plot is mapped out and I have more than enough pages already sketched and written to keep the weekly update going for the foreseeable future.
Unlike the first chapter, I'm not limiting myself to a specific page count for Chapter 2, the plot is divided in the same number of "blocks" as chapter 1 (you'll see what I mean tomorrow, I'll post the prep work doodles and stuff.) but I'll just use however many pages feel appropriate for each (while keeping in mind the importance of pacing, of course).
I know some of you are going to be disappointed that the story skips the six months of Ted being stuck in his padded cell and Esme now and then crinkling around the asylum, or that they don't both end up in a padded cell together for the rest of their lives. Those are things I like too but I wanted these two to have a happy and fuzzy future ahead of them.
I like happy and fuzzy.
And I hope you'll keep enjoying my happy and fuzzy stories too.
