Description:
Moby McSquidly Pinto used to work as a water pump operator stationed in San Francisco, but stubbornly careless people keeping the Californian seas messy and continuous indifference within his former crew prompted the Portuguese Water Dog to quit his original job and to pursue his own goal of cleaning the coastal sea across California. Furthermore, McSquidly was recently legally added in honor of his pet squid McSquidly, who fell ill and passed away within the said sea. Afterwards, he spent few months not only studying and researching ways to combat water pollution plagueing California, but also handcrafting machines to help him do the job of sea cleaning, but the best one was his own submarine named "Moby Mobile", ironically named after the once-floating island of junk that came to San Francisco at one point.
Rex Weichknochen, ever a young yet enthusiastic Bernese Mountain Dog member of one archaeologist group, visited the Kentarus family plantation in Tanzania over the possible finding of large fossilized sea creatures, which availed in his favor a week later. He would send the fossils to San Francisco under his superior's orders, where they could be displayed in a local museum. After few months however, he, his superior and his crew had arrived at the docks of San Francisco, only to be ambush by the Canada-based terror group, aptly named the Double Dougs. Despite the archeaologist ship being unarmed, the Double Dougs mercilessly fired shots and bombs, without even leaving a warning. His superior shielded him from all of these but there came an inevitable, the lone ship sank.
In a single night, it was such the most unfortunate event for Rex, whose superior and crew were massacred, and whose ship and its fossils inside were dragged below the sea, as the Double Dougs cared nothing more than clear and serious retaliation against California, but for what reason? Well to Moby, the small gang of space pilots interfered with the Dougs' affairs twice, but that gave the terror group an impression that California was onto something against them. Moby was quick enough to rescue Rex and brought him to his apartment in downtown. Although it was no surprise for Moby that Dougs had some audacity to ambush and attack civilian ships, he was aghast to witness them unleashing a small but heavy barrage onto the city with bazookas and turrets before retreating back to the seas. Even the majority of water pumping stations were damaged beyond control. What Moby had witnessed was the Double Dougs' only ship, albeit barely visible in his eyes, whose turrets were strong enough to damage few portions of a single city, and so far it had retreated into the seas, and San Francisco was safe for now.
Moby's apartment was at least far enough from the sea, as its neighborhood had not been shelled, allowing Rex to rest and recover. Unfortunately, Rex's recent encounter with the Dougs had left him with broken legs, making him unable to even walk on his own, prompting Moby to give him a wheelchair. Neither of the two were certain on whether Rex's legs would be fully healed and brought back to function.
Fearful at what capable the Double Dougs had become of, Moby turned to his only contact and his only friend, Chase Alsatian, who once offered him to join the MALAKAS Project, as well as its own PAW Patrol. Moby initially refused that offer back then due to his insistence on cleaning the San Francisco coast on his own, not to mention his inventing prowess. Despite that, Chase relied on Moby to check an update on the Double Dougs' activities, since they proactively set their focus on Mt. Tingganda Military Base, the site for the said project. Back to the present, Moby found Chase bruised (by the shell blast) yet active, currently assisting Skye Cockapoo in bringing injured victims to safety. Shocked to hear from Moby on who caused such destruction, Chase quickly put aside his emergency duties and brought Moby and Rex (despite being wheelchair-bound) to the nearby military outpost, though the two dogs would have to wait for a week to be brought into Mt. Tingganda.
At this point, only Ryan "Ryder" O'Kelly remained in the PAW Patrol, doing nothing but maintaining its headquarters and tinkering its vehicles in the meantime until the next member, since Chase, Skye and the other eight members had long past their due stay in the mountain base and had been honorably discharged since then. After a week, Ryder was excited and quick to meet two new members of the patrol, Moby and Rex of course, but Ryder was horrified to hear what transpired back in San Francisco. Even the project supervisor and the higher-ups were disgusted to hear it, and allowed to Ryder to initiate the unofficial protocol, which was to bring back the discharged PAW Patrollers in times of emergency. By emergency, they would return as instructors to assist certain Recruits to become new Patrollers. In this case, Moby and Rex wouldn't be the only ones doing the training in the PAW Patrol HQ, but that would be another entry soon.
One training session worth few months would be more challenging to Rex, all thanks to his broken legs, so Moby would usually assist him as well, but Rex would have to finish the training on his own eventually. Even at one point forward, Moby would make the pair of leg supports for Rex to not only help him move with less struggle, but to also quicken the full recovery of Rex's legs. Predictably, Moby and Rex would become Super Soldiers, but thanks to Moby's inventions and upgrades introduced to the HQ, they would receive different backpacks with extendable arms: In Moby's case, it was packed with a variety of tools meant for garbage reduction and collection, but in Rex's, its tools were archaeologic-related, though a helicopter fan would certainly do him a favor.
Afterwards, the whole PAW Patrol, consisting of new and old members alike, headed back to San Francisco to stop the Double Dougs, once and for all. Taking out each puny member armed with rifles would be their easy pickings, but their main priority was to destroy the Double Dougs' only ship, the 10-year-old and supposedly soon-to-be-dismantled Halifax-class frigate, originally found abandoned and unscathed at the man-made sinking of Adventure Bay. That frigate had resurfaced, and as expected, both the PAW Patrol and the Double Dougs came into an intensive fight, right in the central district. The Double Doug frigate kept pounding the city with its turrets, until Moby and Rex flew above and raindropped bombs onto the frigate, causing it to sink. The surviving Dougs could do nothing but retreat, where the PAW Patrollers rejoiced in having saved the city, only to receive an alert from Ryder that another round of Double Doug attacks was coming into the mountain base, forcing the Patrollers to leave the city immediately. However, Rex and Moby requested to stay for a while as they began extracting the fossils from Rex's sunken ship, promising they would catch up as once their job was done.
