I know someone that has a special nickname for the Mauser; the Knucklebuster, lol. She was firing one and used a two-hand grip (smaller hands) which is good and all. But because of how big the hammer is and how far down it goes, it ended up getting her across the second hand. Nothing bad, but funny as hell within 5 minutes and has been a laugh for decades now.
At the time, she was. well, not quite a beginner, maybe a novice with a small amount of experience with handguns? Anyway, she was using a double-hand grip because of that as well as having small hands. It worked well enough for 'normal' pistols up until the Mauser. She learned to alter her grip after that one, lol.
