It's no secret to anyone in Oseille that Fiachra has a tremendous crush on Ciara. Unfortunately, by the time he got up the nerve to tell her how he felt, Ciara had already fallen for Niamh instead. The two girls were inseparable, so it was really no surprise for them to end up together. Fiachra was disappointed of course, but there has never been any doubt that Ciara and Niamh love each other deeply and, like any good brother, Fiachra was pleased to see his sister so happy. More recently, Ciara and Niamh were married, which makes Ciara Fiachra's sister, too, after a fashion. This is the first time in memory a fox has married into a rabbit family, and it put the whole city into an uproar, but as far as Fiachra is concerned he couldn't be prouder to have a sister like Ciara.
Yes, Ciara really is that short. It's hard to tell when she's with Niamh, because Niamh is rather short, too, but Ciara is only supposed to be 4'9". I've wanted to get something done to show her true height for a while now, and while Fiachra isn't my tallest character (he's only 5'8"), he's one of the tallest people Ciara would actually know. Her breasts, such as they are, are shown at just the right size here, too. All of which means this may just be the first really accurate picture of Ciara to be produced.

Ooh, I really like this. It's a nice change of pace from, ahem, some of the other Fiachra pictures (I'd even go so far as to say he looks cuter with his clothes on!) and like all the best pics it has a really strong atmosphere to it. He and Ciara really do come across as family here; they're clearly relaxed and happy in each other's company, and you can tell that Fiachra looks out for Ciara. Oh, and I wouldn't mind his shorts for myself, either! =:P
Yeah, it is. I've really been wanting to take him in a new direction for a while now, because even I am starting to think it's getting ridiculous. And rather embarrassing. I think, with all of my characters from Oseille, I'm going to start trying to focus more on their relationships as a family. I've actually got a bit of an idea for a short story around Fiachra and Deirdre that I'm hoping to get written before too long. Anyway, I really like this one, too. I think it sums up his relationship with Ciara quite nicely. He really does care a lot about her and, in spite of all the commissions I've bought, he's probably my most family oriented character to date. For him, having Ciara as a sister is every bit as emotionally satisfying as having her for a lover would have been.
*Grins* If it's clothes we're talking about, I think I'd rather have Ciara's outfit, myself. But Fiachra's clothes do look pretty good, I agree.

Well, "ridiculous" might be overdoing it a touch, as the pictures were perfectly good, but I must admit I was pleased a while ago when you said you were hoping to get some clean art of Fiachra done; it had got to the point where if I saw his name, the initials "NSFW" silently attached themselves before I'd even seen the picture! I do think it's nice that we're seeing something different -- after all, he does a fair amount to help out in Oseille. The story you mention sounds very promising, and I'll certainly look out for that one if it works out.
*Grins* Well, that's fine. I'd quite like Fiachra's shirt as well, so I'll have that and you can have Ciara's clothes. Just so long as they have others to change into, or we'll be back where we started!

Yeah, poor Fiachra. It has rather gotten to that point where you pretty much know what to expect from him, I guess. But I have been meaning to steer all of my characters toward the cleaner end of the scale again. There are all kinds of things I want to do with them, and not just the ones from Oseille but all of my others as well. But Fiachra is definitely one of the ones I most want to focus on.
I thought it was high time I started letting Fiachra actually be a person again, and this is an idea I've wanted to get done for quite a while now, too. Of course the main thing I wanted to do was to show how short Ciara really is, and my first thought was to use Jett, who is all of 6'3" to do the job. But I couldn't come up with a good idea for the two of them, since they've never met and, in the normal course of things, never would. But Fiachra is someone she's quite close to, and so the idea hit me to use him instead. There is quite a lot of substance to this picture, too, I agree. That book in her hands is certainly mysterious, for a start. I'm glad you liked the little bit of stuff I wrote for the this, too. I always like to try to add a little something like that to my commissions, to better explain the ideas behind them, so it really is good to know when they work out.
As for drawing Ciara, I would like to say I've never had the least problem with the way you've drawn her. Or with how anyone has drawn her, for that matter. Her being practically flat-chested is something I haven't put much emphasis on because I didn't want people to get the wrong idea, especially since she's so short, too. But it's kind of nice to see her as I have always imagined her, and I think Jillian did a really good job of making sure she still looks like an adult, too.
