Oh geezus these things are evil.
I was on an empty-ish backroad (I live in Florida) when I spotted one of these things just hobbling along aimlessly at an intersection. It was big, and turtle, so I stopped to move it so it wouldn't get crushed. I picked it up and got it safely away from the road by the trees. That was when it stretched its neck out like "NYYYYYUUUUUUUHHHH I HATE YOU" and snapped at me like a beast. And I doubled back like "WHY DO YOU WANT TO KILL ME YOU'RE A TURTLE" and dropped it on a floof of grass. It crawled away into a sewer drain very indignantly and that was it.
