As Nahida woke up, she heard a knock at her door. She sat up and quickly examined herself before responding. She was still adorned in the jewelry she had worn the day before during her meetings with the Hashire nobility, an exhausting group of nobles who sought to return things back to how they were under her father's rule. She denied them any policies they requested and secretly tasked Cleo with commanding the Sphinx's Claw watch them closely. Finally, after ensuring her wrappings were secured, she told the person at the door to come in. In walked a servant, a newly recruited one named Erin, who immediately blushed and looked away upon seeing Nahida in her wrappings but still walked in as commanded. "What brings you to my door?" asked Nahida. Erin hesitated for a moment before looking up with a tinge of desperation in their eyes, "Queen Nahida, I know I have not been here long, merely 2 months, but I have a request. I have received a letter from my family stating that my mother and brother are ill. I ask humbly that I may return home to watch over them, as I have no other family that can. I know I am not in a position to ask such a thing, and I will stay if you ask, but I do humbly ask, no beg, that you grant my request." With that, Erin drops to their knees and prostrates themselves before Nahida. Nahida moves her right leg onto her bed, her arm upon as she beckons Erin to come to her and says "Stand up now Erin and come here." Erin stands and follows her directions as Nahida wraps her arms around them. "You are my servant, but more importantly, you are citizen of Sulakawa. You go help your family, they are more important than your duties here." Nahida releases Erin, and they take a few steps back, still taking in the situation. "Allow me to get dressed and then follow me to my throne. I shall request enough coin for you to get the medicine, and food, you and your family will need during your time with them. I do expect, upon your arrival back, that you bring good news about your family's condition." With that, Erin thanks Nahida and waits outside of her room until she emerges dressed and ready for the day ahead.
