Grab a texture or a photo, do the same steps.
Make a new layer above the finished product, hold down the option/alt key and click on the line between the new layer and the layer below. The new blank layer will be indented. Grab a paint bucket with a color and see the cool shit you just did. It'll become more readily apparent if you draw something on the layer below the top two. :3c
