Let me preface this by saying I love all the art I get. I enjoy working with artists to translate a nuanced (and at times, nebulous) character into a visual format, and their stylistic differences are all a part of that effort to create a unique and effective piece.
So if you're an an artist I've commissioned before and are reading this, please don't take it badly, or think I don't appreciate you work! I enjoy everything I get, and sometimes other styles are precisely what I am looking for!
But if I had to choose among them for an idealized, head-canon image to represent me, it would be one of these amazing pieces by
Honovy.
It's hard to overstate how excellent Honovy is at translating a collection of ideas and examples into something cohesive and timeless.
She's incredibly easy to work with, and doesn't seem to mind my detail-oriented (read: fixated) approach to character refinement!
I realize how staggeringly hard it is to stay 'on model' with something as abstract as a chimera... Especially when it's a moving goalpost, and every time I get a new piece, it's an opportunity to introduce or alter some small detail, little adjustments I've thought about since last time.
That said! There are three (3) versions, this time! Explicitly because I wanted a nude version (because of course I did) and an erect version (because why not), but also an actual SFW version that I could show to non-furry friends and people in polite circles, and use as RPG reference!
The armor was actually quite fun to design! I've always liked the flowing-garment-plus-armor aesthetic in media, and wanted to make it my own... Which of course involved compiling a hald-dozen different designs and stitching them together, which constituted its own refsheet, hah.
I think it fit the bill perfectly! There's no specific origin or real-world parallel for the armor, which contributes to the 'fantasy' feel, but it does have bits and pieces of historical influence in there - a Gothic-style breastplate, modified Roman manica, pteruges over a skirt that's not beating any Assassin's Creed allegations... Chimerical armor for a chimerical creature!
Also, to anyone who can identify the sword used in this piece, you will earn 5 Chimera Points!
These are non-redeemable, non-fungible, and serve literally no purpose, but will add another tracker to your conceptual character sheet!
