first ever ref for sagespeckle! i only just remembered she's never actually had one til now

sagespeckle grew up an only child in windclan, heavily isolated due to being visibly half-clan. she was never apprenticed. her mother weaselbelly taught her what she could when she had the time. when sagepaw's peers became warriors, she snuck out of camp to give herself her own ceremony and chose the name sagespeckle.
technically, her official name is still sagekit. most of windclan just called her sage, if they used a name for her all.

sagespeckle resented weaselbelly for having kits with someone outside windclan and causing her to have such a terrible life. she pushed away the one cat that cared for her. sagespeckle was also never sent on patrols or to gatherings. she rarely left camp. when the infamous rebel leader from thunderclan was sent to windclan as a prisoner, sagespeckle was assigned to guard her. (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/51805770/) applescar was catatonic with grief at first, so sagespeckle ended up thinking out loud and venting to her. applescar finally started talking to tell sagespeckle she didnt deserve a single terrible thing windclan had done to her, and they became friends from there. sagespeckle also starts thinking more about weaselbelly and makes peace with her actions. she also gets closer with thrushleaf and hollyfang, who she also initially resented for how easily they were accepted into windclan compared to her. hollyfang is distant and strange, but thrushleaf is nice to be around.

when windclan and thunderclan are defeated and the war ends, weaselbelly tells sagespeckle that her father is aldershade of riverclan, and she has two brothers, featherleg and troutshimmer. they all have the worlds most awkward family reunion at the border. aldershade is overjoyed to see his daughter- he'd only seen her once when they separated the litter. featherleg and troutshimmer are unnerved to see a clan cat they have truly never met or even heard of. by adulthood, most cats have at least heard the name of almost every cat in the territories. but theyre intrigued and excited to meet her. the boys quickly suggest weaselbelly and sagespeckle moving to riverclan after hearing about their lives in windclan, but sagespeckle holds back because she wants thrushleaf to come with them. she's been suffering in her hasty role as healer and sagespeckle cant leave her behind after her brother already has.

the thrushleaf situation resolves as explained here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/60757127/ and she steps down as healer to join riverclan with sagespeckle and weaselbelly. she also ends up getting feelings for featherleg, and another warrior named cedarflame. sagespeckle slowly, cautiously starts Experiencing Positive Emotions and is learning how to have family members and friends. she misses applestrike so much it rips her heart out every day and she realizes she was definitely kind of in love with her. as of my current plans and setup sagespeckle never takes a mate. i liked focusing on her family ties more
