How am I creating my stuff?
A couple times ago, my friends have been asking me how I was making my content, some think it's in Minecraft, others wonder if it's Blender.
I am going to display how I make my arts, and probably answer your questions in the process! ^^
1- Rendering
I start my project on Mine-Imator, a Minecraft-like animation software, where I import a model and put a pose I like (or wanted). Making sure that the lighting, camera angle and view are good according to what I have in mind, and scale it to 5120*(xxxx) pixels.
2- Montage
After rendering, I switch to Paint.net, my photo editor software to make a quick montage with everything I need in my artwork. Sometimes if necessary, I have to render another piece without shadow over a certain shape, so I can easily separate the model from the background (truly the most stressful part, since my computer may crash at anytime)
Once montage and images done, I switch to the fun parts!
3- Vectoring
Okay, not really vectoring, but inspired from

I switch to Photoshop to give some images a papercut effect, giving to images a simplified, geometrical look, as well as a "poster" effect at some places.
When Earth or multi-color related, I often have to separate the foreground from the background for mutual vectoring then merge them again for the final one.
4 and 5- Shading / Lighting
The best part! Shading and lighting an artwork is something I love doing!
For shading, I use the HEXA color #171029, which is the ambient night for Earth, but also a good shading color especially since I use the layer blender "Multiply" once shading done.
For lighting, I use a greyscale color, not too bright nor too dark. It allows to make body parts brighter, either by the sun, or a light source. I mostly base myself on the render's light to get the best lighting.
The whole process can take me from 40 minutes to 2 hours depending the complexity and how many images I have to shade.
6- Final post
After shading, I can add little details here and there, Earth lights, sunlight, reflection, or a better background. But 97% of the drawing is done.
The signature is by far important! In order to avoid art stealing and to sign from my style!
Why Lothar? Because it's my FA display, but I've been thinking to put Typhoon S. or something! ^^
And this is it! The entire *complex* process of making my stuff!
I wanted to share this for a long time, but wasn't able to do so until now!
Drawing used is "Reign of Blobs", a gift art for my Aussie friend
