The Big Blue Blob was chasing after a jagrian in a cave, clearly trying to grab him. That fox eventually maneuvered it into a trap in the middle of the room, and has been sinking really slowly since.
Assured that it is either too stuck or too confused to get out and chase him again, he went back into the kitchen to finish making the soup. Then he came back to see it up to its waist, and the sinking rug trap displacing upwards from the sheer amount of volume sinking into it.
Then, it reached out again, trying to grab him. The twisting movement from his multiple tries was just right to dig itself about 8 inches deeper into the trap. It can't grab the fox, it can only hope the trap is not more than 10 feet deep
