It's possible, given the Chaos War; or the kid could be resentful because her absentee father showed up out of the blue to take her away from Gloria in order to teach her how to be a demigod and use her birthright.

Wait... They don't recognize Alexander as the water god. So either they're really bad at remembering faces, or (more likely) Alexander dropped off the radar years ago.
