Holt's life in general was rather... rough. His parents seemed to constantly be at each others' throats, and would often blame him for a lot of the problems instead of taking responsibility for their own actions. This would lead to the boy suffering when it came to his schooling, as well as the fact that he was considered a bit of an outcast among the other kids. It all really started to cause the boy rising feelings of despair and loneliness.

At some point, he heard of some kind of urban legend. He couldn't remember wear he heard it from. Though he initially waved it off as silly, he hit a point where he felt he had to try.

And to his amazement, it worked.
