UPDATE 6/23/25: New photo. The antiquated digital camera was stuck in Micro mode resulting in everything further away than a few inches as fuzzy.
For the FACCC2 June / July Challenge: Summer Cookout.
Please forgive the fuzzy picture. My antiquated digital camera is giving up the ghost and will no longer focus on whatever I’m aiming at. So, until I can obtain a replacement, this’ll be my last recipe submission for a while.
Ingredients:
Whole ears of corn in husk (however many you wish to cook)
Butter/margarine at room temp
Foil
Directions:
Carefully peal back the husk of the corn, like a banana, but do not pull it off completely. Remove the corn silk (hairs/strings). Liberally, spread butter along the corn on all sides. Pull husk back up over the corn. Wrap in foil.
Grill on a gas/charcoal grill or over an open fire. I used a gas grill this time around, but prefer open fire. Burners were set on medium. Give the corn a quarter turn every five minutes for about a half hour. If over an open fire, turn more often. If it burns a little, that’s alright. You’ll find the browned corn kernels near the burnt very sweet. The corn will come out moist and buttery. No extra butter needed when you serve/enjoy it, as the squirrels are about to do here.

They seem to be and apparently collectable. I saw one on Ebay last year missing the ear tag for $50. Blows my mind. This particular company specializes in very soft plushies for infants/toddlers and changes their designs every few years.
Besides, it's fun to stick'em in photos. I've got a whole folder here with their antics.
