Well, the good news is that your name isn't taken. When registering though(if you do join a team), the name might be contested for similarity with Minnie Krusher from the Brewcity Bruisers(Madison, WI), and Minnie the Mauler from the Torpedo Bay Rollergirls(Mobile, AL). Its different enough that it should pass.
Step one, just learn how to skate, its fun and I'm sure that with a few lessons that you should be able to pick it up relatively quick. Next, find your local teams and audition. If you're wondering, I've started doing work with various Derby teams as I've been creating merch just for the derby teams. Very specifically, I'm making protecting leather toe caps to keep your skates safe when you're dragging them across the track floor.
