"(The) black rabbit"
It's one of my usual "alternative anatomy" rabbits, or a jackalope with dropped antlers if you want. Those orchid type flowers are fictional too (no refs like always). As I often do, I tried to portray the rabbit as a wild, vicious animal rather than the cuddly fluffballs that people tend to associate with the idea of a rabbit. They have a powerful kick and strong claws and also a chilling scream. That movie Watership Down shows that idea very well, too.
Drawn during lectures, simple pencil, flat photoshop colours (took some time).

That's a pretty powerful image. I like it a lot; I think it suits the Black Rabbit pretty well. The "alternative anatomy" isn't a problem, and there's a sense of, not evil in any way, but implacable remorselessness. The Black Rabbit comes for every rabbit eventually.
As far as Watership Down goes, the film is pretty good, but the original novel is better. Richard Adams created a masterpiece when he wrote that book.
Not so long ago I was tricked into watching a YouTube video that turned out to be a live rabbit being given to a large snake. I didn't manage to turn it off until after the screaming started. It still haunts me. =:(

Thanks for your support.
Actually, this wasn't intended to be "the" black rabbit from Watership Down. Just a normal old and faded black rabbit (hence the German title). I didn't write this clearly. What I meant to say is that the essential that I see in rabbits can also be seen in the movie. Of course you can interpret it as you like since the meaning of art is at least 50% about the viewer in my opinion, and I think that what you wrote makes a lot of sense!
I haven't read the novel yet but I will eventually.
About the video, that sounds horrible. Your friends really shouldn't trick you that way. Now that I think about it, live feeding of snakes if probably not even worse than feeding a cat or dog the canned industrial "food" junk that most people buy. That's all a bit messed up if people call themselves "animal lovers" :|
