[COMM] Road Closed for Cleanup - by Shieltar
Any Midwestern settlement would and should be familiar with the hazards wrought by Mother Nature. Summers are hot and humid; winters are frigid; and the spring and fall make for perfect conditions to bring the biggest and baddest of storms the world over. Thankfully, Ginny grew up in the Midwest, and knows these hazards all too well. Not much can be done about the storms themselves - to a degree, at least - but it's the cleanup afterwards that's the tricky part. Most of the time, though, it's just loose twigs and leaves that litter the ground after a storm.
Alas, there are times when the messes require a Harbinger's helping hand. A recent spat of storms in this region did a lot more than rain and litter. According to many reports, including some of her own first-hand experience, a number of neighborhoods experienced damaged roofs, and it's believed half a dozen tornadoes ripped through - a rare occurrence in this part of the country. No casualties, thankfully, which was the best news for her to give. After giving a brief report to the local news station, she donned her Harbinger uniform and got to work.
First order of business was to clear some of the roadways around town. One of the supposed tornadoes ended up taking a whole tree and dropping it across an important route, and needed to be cleared out. A quick change in size, a brief closure of the immediate road, and she could have it fully cleared in a matter of minutes. And not a moment too soon, as a truck had been rounding the bend shortly after she got to work. The tail sign might've been called 'cute' by her peers, but it was an effective addition to her kit since she did mostly inland work.
Shortly after moving the tree off the road, she was told another tree had brought down some power lines. Another excuse to walk along these roads at size.
Finally, a Harbinger doing what they're meant to do! And my first comm of Ginny in a long while! Long story short, I had a lot going on these past few months so I had to slow down my commissioning schedule. Now that I finally got some things taken care of, I couldn't hold back and started yeeting money around, and a recent bout of big storms in my area brought about this idea...
Ginny's specialty as a Harbinger is in disaster relief for inland storms, as her Harbinger ability allows her to handle live power lines without issue. Being a reporter as her day job also gives her a lot of insight to the scope of a particular scenario, as well as making it super convenient for her to document the entire thing. Knowing that her gifts and talents go a long way towards helping others in a time of need is a big reason why she (as well as the other Harbinger girls) does it in the first place.
