I really like your idea of your art "Shadow" and "Flame", you can sort of see and connection in the two and I hope I'm right when I try to sound smart:

Shadow is likely the feeling of one when they find themselves useless or pathetic, like why they where born with so much desire and knowledge in a body that could not accomplish such things or maybe the feeling of their shell dragging them down like the dripping lines show, a wish to escape such a weak body.

Flame is more of acceptance of it, indulging in its many wonders and enjoying the things it can bring while being free, the flow of flame like wings could be a sign of freedom of spirit of course it could also be a burning craving for more that it offers so it could be looked at as a opposite to Shadow, more of giving in then trying to pull away.
