As in, what do you use xD

I draw most of them traditionally, sketch them out as if I was just drawing a regular picture of them. Then I use a kneaded eraser to make all the lines lighter so that I can just draw the tribal designs over the "lineart." Then I ink the design with a fine tipped sharpie. :) I may or may not be submitting a tutorial soon, someone actually commissioned me for one a couple of weeks ago but I wanted to check with them that it was alright that I post it before I just went ahead and did so. xD But the kneaded eraser definitely makes drawing these designs traditionally a whole lot easier. At least for me, I tend to sketch things out waaay too dark the first time.
