Name: Ian Blair
Gender: Male
Species: Rotom (Fan)
Age: 19
Height: 6’03”
Weight: 232lbs
Ability: Levitate
Personality: Ian is a rather nice guy to know, but it’s not a good idea to get on his bad side. Woe be to anyone who makes a Scottish joke he doesn’t approve of. He is fiercely loyal to his friends, and will defend them if they are ever attacked, demeaned, or slandered. The fact that he is no longer an Espeon is a major sore point with him, as he was very proud of what he was before he was killed. Now he prefers not to think about it if he can get away with it.
Aura: If one were to be able to see Ian’s aura, it would appear much like a green wind swirling around him, with the turbulence or calmness of its movement depending on his emotional state.
Hold item: Scope Lens
Accessories: Currently N/A
Theme song: (possible) Daybreak’s Bell – L’Arc-En-Ciel
Battle theme: The Spirit Chaser – Rudora no Hihou
Background: When Ian was still an Espeon, he was very proud of what he was. Since he’d enrolled at the PCA, he made friends with one Signý Ó Suaird who was fresh into her Freshman year, one grade below him. The two quickly became best friends and they planned to form a team together, but the regulations at the time required four initial members to qualify as an official team. The two met another person who had just entered her Freshman year, Katheryn “Kate” Swift. Although they also became best friends, Kate was already in a team with her older brother Gregory and her triplet sisters, so the three couldn’t form a team together as Kate didn’t want to leave her brother’s team.
At the end of that year Kate’s brother Gregory graduated, and his team no longer had enough members to stay official. Due to this, the team was disbanded, meaning that Kate could now form a team with Ian and Signy, but they were short one member. Kate pleaded with her sisters to join the new team, but they either weren’t interested or had other obligations. As they had been having extreme difficulty finding at least one other person to form a team with, their plan to form a team together was put on hold until they could find at least one other person to team up with.
Aside from becoming highly proficient at archery using a crossbow, events passed “normally” from then until when Ian graduated from his Junior year at the PCA and started his summer vacation. It was then that a criminal who had previous escaped justice every time had found him alone, and killed him. After that, a prosecution team that had been attempting to get the culprit behind bars for years resorted to calling in a spirit medium who was escorted to the murder scene to communicate with the victim. However, things didn’t go according to plan, as the spirit medium found themselves unable to call the spirit of the victim. While the murder site was being investigated, the reason for this was found in the form of Ian who had recently come back from the dead due to the trauma involved in his death, as a Rotom merged with a fan that used to be nearby.
Due to the fact that he was “alive” again, the prosecution team had even more than they had thought they needed in order to win their case. Ian would become their trump card, both witness and evidence to his own murder. However, he needed time to recover enough to testify, especially since they weren’t sure if he would attempt to kill his murderer upon seeing him in court. Therefore, they stalled the case in court for as long as they could, until Ian could get his bearings again and be coached in what he needed to do, and what he shouldn’t ever do, in the court when the time came for him to testify.
When that time came, time was up for Ian’s murderer, as Ian’s testimony along with the evidence the prosecution team had found provided all the proverbial nails to the criminal’s coffin, and they were finally sentenced to life imprisonment with no chance for parole. Although Ian was relieved to have his killer finally behind bars, his life was ruined. He was no longer the Espeon he was so proud to be, and he couldn’t even learn much if any psychic-type attacks to make up for it. It was due to this that he entered a brief period of severe depression.
The prosecution team that had found him pooled together what they could, and offered the now Fan Rotom the chance to stay at a renowned rehabilitation center, and they would provide the funds for all costs involved. Due to his current emotional state, Ian couldn’t help but accept, regardless of what he thought of the matter. Once he had been entered for treatment, he would stay at the center for roughly one year, at which point those who worked with him felt that he could now return to a relatively “normal” life.
Meanwhile, the most information back at the PCA about Ian’s fate was that he had been murdered, and that his killer had been put away for life thanks to the testimony of a truly exceptional witness. Ian’s friends were left in a state of mourning, until he finally returned to the PCA for his final year at the school. Saying that they were shocked would be an understatement, and a major one at that. His friends had been brought to tears seeing him again when they thought he was gone forever, especially Signy, who had grown to consider Ian her brother over the time that they knew each other at the PCA.
Once things calmed down somewhat, Ian, Signy, and Kate set about looking for people with which they could form a team with. Eventually they found Haukea, a Junior who had just recently transferred to the PCA. She was challenged to a “welcoming” match, and she surprised the three friends when she proved remarkably difficult to take down in battle. Once the match was over, she was congratulated for a good fight, and promptly offered a position on their team. She accepted (even if it took some time), and they now felt comfortable with forming a team, as the regulations regarding teams had changed since Ian was killed. Once all the paperwork was over and done with, the four were now part of a team; Team Ultima. The idea for the name of the team came from Kate, who suggested using the name of her brother Gregory’s old team with her and her sisters, and the name stuck relatively soon afterwards.
Due to what had happened to him, Ian had changed his aimed-for job to that of a prosecutor, as he wanted to ensure that those like the person who killed him would be brought to justice before they could cause any more harm.
Eye colour: Green
Hair colour: Copper
Markings and distinguishing features: He still has a lot of physical features from when he was still “alive” as an Espeon, like his ears and forehead gem. His tail is made out of a power cord/cable, and the glow normally seen covering most Rotoms is fur-like. This fur-like glow can also be covered by clothing just like “normal” fur.
Orientation: Straight
Relationship status: Single
Crushes: None or refuses to say who he likes
Grade: Senior
Team: Team Ultima
Battle style: Ian fights primarily using the two turbines inside of his arms and the larger one in his chest, from which he can launch a variety of attacks. Due to his training in archery - specifically the crossbow - before his death, using the turbines in his arms almost came naturally to him, all time to get used to the new parts he had aside.
