Kristof and Merel are out on a walk to visit their grandchildren when Merel points out they are near the place they first met many, many years ago and suggests they should celebrate the occasion with a family picnic there on their upcoming wedding anniversary.

With the advancements in medical science human life expectancy has increased to the point where they can live up to and over 100 years, and this is also true for Dravers who have a life expectancy of 130 to 140 years. Not quite as long as Chakats who can reach 150 years of age, but Dravers can remain active for longer in comparison before the effects of aging slows them down. The first problem they develop as they age is their disgestive system becoming less effective, meaning they have to eat more and take nutrient supplements as one or two of their stomachs are barely effective anymore, typically it is the smallest ones which become less effective, but if the larger ones fail it poses a bigger problem which might require surgery. Blindness and loss of hearing are another problem they may encounter which cannot always be fixed even with today's science.

In terms of physical strength Dravers don't lose out all that much as long as they stay active and exercise, so while Kristof has some trouble walking Merel is quite happy and capable to offer him some additional support, or to help him get upstairs at home which saves having a stair lift installed at home. She also still does her part in the family gardening business which their son has taken over these days and it helps her stay active and healthy, while Kristof manages the finances and paperwork to stay involved.
