The Red-Throat Pterus is a species of large pterosaur native to the coastal areas of the Great Grasslands. While it is primarily a fish-eater, it is by no means any less dangerous than the terrestrial predators in the same region. Given the chance, it will take any prey small enough for it to swallow whole or kill quickly with its massive beak.

The species gets its name from the vivid coloration sported by males; they possess a large, red throat sac and two small eyebrow crests, which they use to impress females. The latter do not have such extravagant structures.

People who venture into this pterosaur's territory always need to be on guard, as predatory attacks do occur quite commonly. The main reason why Tei'Roa isn't fighting for her life right now is because the Pterus already has a fish in its beak... lucky break...
