Yah another sketch from AC :> yes, I'm calling it a hyena, even if it looks so much like a muttmix of 30 species. @_@ Must practice hyenaaaaas.... anyway:
So this was based on this one guy at AC, he sorta stood out to me. He was waving his blue glowing lightsticks and sway-dancing around in these bright white UFO pants, and he was such a energy bringer up on stage on Saturday night's dance and Sunday at the deaddog, and he kinda left an impression on me. cx I dunno, blue and white just attract me. So later on I really wanted to draw him, but not exactly him (to not be creepy). So whoever you are you rocked and were important for amping energy in the AC dances! Hee, later on I went on stage and made a total fool of myself CX but I was having fun, I didn't care... so yah. In the Zoo, some people stopped by, and if you're one of them, now you know what provoked this pic.
The name of the pic comes from something I learned, reading or hearing from possibly a furry friend (Genki, was it you?) about the energy of music. For the longest time in iTunes I hated measuring beats per minute and being frustrated by slowish songs that MADE ME WANNA POWERDANCE NAO right next to superfast but not really motivating songs. Someone told me about the concept of energy then. Energy is the energy of the music and it solely represents what a piece of music means to you. Does it relax, does it wake you up in the morning, does it make you shake your tail some, or does it lift your body and spirit into new trancendent planes of rave glory? Whatever it does, you rate it by energy. So I rate from Energy 1 (which is like slow/classical music/possibly even emo stuff) to Energy 2 (catchy neat tunes, like what you hear on light pop radio in the car) and start dancing Energy 3 (which is some slower house-like stuff, dance-in-the-kitchen/house party stuff) and then Energy 4 (that's like BIG party, BIG fun, big beats that will not let you do anything but dance, sweat and stomp) and then Energy 5... the kind of beats that are rare, legendary, and take you to another place and state where lights, sweat, noise, flashes, everyone else dancing, and who you are all dissolve into this one thing that, like when you're in it, you don't even feel yourself, and when you're out of it you can't even remember what it feels like and all you want is to go back there... |3 That's just the way *I* see these 5 levels. :> And it's fuuuun.
All pencil - wiff cutepaws - took a few hours, but done wholly at AC. :> I don't like how the 'yena's so stiff in his frame, and his face is bleah, and there's no background, but oh well I should bucket more effort into traditional stuff... meh. But he's still very Energy 5, as were the dances tis Anthrocon, very VERY Energy 5 all nite. Hope you enjoy. :)

I really like this one, it came out awesome. ^^ The energy of the music really comes through in how he's moving, his expression is really cute, those paws and toes are lovely, and that tail is delightfully fluffy. ^^ I really like it! Neat ideas about energy levels in music too. :> Music is awesome. <3

the whole thing about classifying songs by energy is really cool too and clears up confusion when I wanna hear powerbomb beats or when I just wanna chill, not caring about what kind of music I listen to exactly. c8
