Second preview of the project I'm working on. Thanks to all who constructively criticized the first preview (which now moved to scraps, blushing in shame under its fur).
How could I look at this for months and not notice that the eyes were positioned too high? I like him much better now. Any more critique?

You've slightly repositioned the head and lowered the eyes... And it looks just fantastic... Not that it didn't before, but now it's even better, in my opinion. You did a wonderful job using the critique that was given. I am still blown away by how realistic and full of life this is.
Great job!

This is an improvement on a what what already pretty fantastic, I pasted him in front of a boring background that i had laying around on my PC just to see how it would look if he was in a world setting. He looks quite a bit more real when he is not in his lovely blue display case.
He looks like a charter model for one because he is in a setting made FOR a charter model.
Anyway the eyes and ear ring are nicely improved

Yep your right on the money there. If your going to do fur, especially fur dynamics, you need 64 bit and muticore processors. I myself use a 8 core BOXX Technologies workstation 8gig Mem by 8 cores 64 bit.
Not the fastest machine my any means but very stable and can render for days. I look forward to see what else you come up with in the future. Nicely done.

Very nice work there :) will be nice to see him when ge get some moods and personality going on.
I dabble in 3D myself but i am so far not too good at characters. need to work more on that. but this inspire me to try harder ;)
and btw, i hope your one of thoes who aim to use mesh in SL to its fullest ability when it comes around ;)

Could we see a wireframe version? Id be interested to see how short the hair is on the snout as you managed to get that pretty spot on. How is your workflow as to the placement of hair on the head, is it in chunks (say the muzzle as one piece the hairdo as another, etc) or is it all one solid piece the trimmed and tweaked?. Id love to know as Im trying to handle my own hair on my vixen character and figuring out how to seperate sections is becoming a pain. I dont mind numbers being thrown at me as I am trying to recreating the style in Blender.
Sure thing: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6340260/
I've got 4 fur sets: the head, the body, the white hair and the whiskers.

Heh, it's funny how a render can look nothing like the base mesh. >D
It is excellent work, but I can't help but think the teeth aren't going to line up right. Maybe it's just me though. It's rigged I'm guessing and the mouth closes properly? Also I believe the top of the muzzle might do with a little more roundness. It looks a little too flat, and the wireframe seems to show that it's slightly concave?
