For my friend https://www.furaffinity.net/user/vixenrue/ :3
It was a slow evening for Sekiu. She was sat in her living room, watching television and waiting for something. She had managed to get herself in a very interesting predicament, as she had not only done everything she could do to pass the time, yet she would need for something else to happen before she could do anything else...
So, waiting turned to boredom, and boredom turned to snacking, and she finally got up and searched for something to eat. Almost anything was too filling for a light snack, and she spent some time pondering if it was worth it to commit to cooking something, when she remembered: she had bought some mixed seeds a little while back, and still had most of the bag left! She was a bird, after all... what could go wrong?
Excited, she rushed over to it... in the garden... she thought about it further... it had been left outside for a long time, the top open and a few sprouts poking their heads out of the top of the bag... she was a little hesitant, but looking inside, she saw that the seeds were miraculously dry! So, if a bit cautiously, she picked up the bag and dragged it back to the sofa with her, continuing to watch her shows.
At first, she tried to pick up the seeds with her wings, but quickly figured out that it would simply cause them to pour all over the sofa, spilling everywhere... so somewhat reluctantly, she plopped the soggy bag onto her lap, and with her large beak into the bag and dug in. The taste was... earthy, but in a pleasant way... she quickly found herself scarfing the whole bag down and letting it droop over the cushion next to her before continuing her show, not even noticing it shrivel away...
The first few minutes, everything was okay. She was back to watching her shows, yes... but now somewhat filled, he was a lot more content to watch TV for a while, but it only took a few minutes for her to begin experiencing side effects...
At first, it was nothing much, simply her feeling a bit fuller than expected... then fuller, and fuller, until she was starting to feel a bit overfed. Them came the queasiness, which began to wash over her in waves. Soon enough, she looked next to her on the sofa, and there, on the other seat was a big green stain on the couch. "Oh no..." the unaware corvid thought to herself... "There must've been moss on the underside of the bag..." before walking away and returning with paper towels. However, to her horror, by the time she came back, the entire cushion had begun to swell, and she realised that it was not a stain, but the seedlings of plants sticking out from the fabric! She looked down in horror, before looking down at herself in equal horror as her stomach gargled, and a large root came tearing through her floorboards, crossing the room and heading straight towards her!
She went to run, but was quickly stopped by a sharp pain, her falling to the ground as her stomach extruded out from the rest of her body, swelling out as she watched the feathers began to shed off of it. She was only distracted by the sound of cracking coming from her home, the wall behind the couch beginning to form cracks, which protruded from the wall as the vines made their way around the building. One of them took out a shelf, another the light switch and another reaching all the way through the roof and causing the light to fall and shatter. The sofa had not faired much better, as the swelling had now spread to every single cushion, the original tearing open to reveal monstrous organic tendrils, which grew larger and longer still, causing the sofa to buckle in the middle due to the plant's sheer weight...
Stumbling to her talons, Sekiu clutched her stomach, stumbling out of the room as it slowly but surely filled with plant matter, managing to make it to her garden before stopping and looking back at the carnage. She could see through the back wall, the wall separating the living room begin to deform, one of the double doors coming off of its hinges as a root going under forces it up at a strange angle. Sekiu could stare at it for ages, but she didn't have time to think about what was happening as she had to think about what was happening to herself!
She looked around her bloated stomach to see her legs beginning to swell, their aches and pains from having to carry her new weight faded, but only to a noticeable numbness as the cracks and pops of her transforming body began to fade from strictly organic to something closer to snapping twigs as her feet continuously spread out from her swelling legs, their runes fading away as their skin became peach and smooth...
Her talons came off, and she watched in horror as her toes began to fray at the ends, turning dark brown before burrowing into the ground. She attempted to fly upwards to prevent it from rooting into the ground, but her weight made that a fruitless task. She stood in discomfort as her toes spread far and wide, her feeling the dirt around her in nearly a meter sphere around her, her looking down to see that nearly all of her feet were used up, leaving her looking like she had put on brown sweatpants and sank into the dirt...
She was caught off-guard as she heard a loud crash from her house. The vines had eaten enough of the sitting room that it had collapsed the room above it, her watching the debris get swallowed up by the mass enveloping her house. Her body began slowly sitting down, as her knee and thigh joints were slowly melding into one continuous strip of wood. The second she sat down, her tail tore off its façade, quickly losing its feathers and joining her former legs in girth and width. Her stomach began to shift too, becoming coated in bark before stretching longer. It continued to stretch bit by bit, sap beginning to drip out of her nose as her frame became inhumanly long and thin, her chest becoming completely flat and slowly whittling down to a veritable pole, her clothes simply sliding off of her body...
Taking her mind off of the madness, she looked forward once more at what was left of her house. The vines had overtaken the majority of it, causing it to begin to sink into the dirt, being barely half the height of the houses next to it. A vine stretched over to her, but not to invade, but simply deposit a variety of seeds around her, which grew into beautiful flower beds and suspiciously well trimmed hedges. It raised the areas the flowers grew, placing bricks around them and sucking up the grass and weeds around them. They also grew some more trees around you, which heavily resembled your lower body at it's current state. Finally, they fished undamaged bricks from the rubble, laying them out in a path between where your house used to be and the street behind you, placing the kitchen bin next to it on a concrete slab before waving a metaphorical goodbye, sinking fully into the ground below and taking the remains of your house with them.
You would clap, but your wings suddenly go numb. All of the smaller feathers shed off almost immediately, and for the larger feathers of the wings themselves, they are whittled down to just the bones, which turn a rough, bark-like brown before warping, pulling and pushing themselves to every which side of your arms, which are forced to be held above your head... There, they turn fat and bark covered, the new "branches" branching every which way, growing and thinning before puffing up in a plume of leaves. You given a moment to contemplate before you begin to feel something in your throat.
You open your beak as wide as you can, but it is quickly chipped away as hundreds of branches begin to emerge from where it once was. You only get a second to truly take it in before your mind begins to be disassembled, your eyes growing dull as you feel your face being pulled apart for more twigs. Your entire head begins to unfold like a red spider lily as you lose the ability to comprehend your faith, now being a permanent installation of this lovely piece of public infrastructure...
