A story with an ordinary high school student, and her homecoming where nothing unusual happens.
There was exactly one lie said there.
Some years back I was sorting files and trying to organize my backups to make it easier to find things. Well, after finding a cache of logs from twenty years ago (!), I had an idea which came to mind. But I didn't have it crystallize until recently... and then in about three hours I pounded out this short story and polished off a couple rough edges which I caught.
